Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s), an initiative of the United Nations, are promoted as global sustainable development objectives. They replaced the Millennium Development Goals, which expired at the end of 2015. SDG’s are valid for the period of 2015 to 2030.
When evaluating the Millennium Development Goals (2014-2015) worldwide improvements have been recorded. However southern Africa remains behind. Help is still needed. Thanks to people and organizations that support us, we can continue our work!
Tâmam is working on the following goals:
Ending poverty in all its forms everywhere in the world.
Eradicating famine, achieving food security and improved nutrition and promoting sustainable agriculture.
Ensuring equitable, quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for everyone.
Tâmam does this by:
- focussing specifically on homeless youth and families in the CBD (Central Business District) of Cape Town
- providing meals
- promoting improved nutrition by teaching youth and families to be more healthy and to take better care of their children’s health
- guiding youth and families to live a normal productive life, being educated and finding work
- offering education and training, leading to a recognised qualification
